Our Vision
Yeovil has seen considerable growth in its employment floorspace in the last sixty years from a traditional location in the town centre into purpose built trading estates at Pen Mill, Lynx and Houndstone. Whilst successful in creating important employment floorspace, these locations have evolved on a piecemeal basis with the associated problems that this creates.
Yeovil has a national reputation as the home of a world-class aerospace company: Agusta Westland. It is also home to the UK's leading trade counter retailer: Screwfix. This is an indication of the town's attractiveness to businesses, both large and small. Yeovil combines a highly skilled workforce within an attractive living and working environment. To many, it represents an ideal location to achieve the work/life balance.
Based on tenant and occupier feedback, one of the shortcomings of many trading estates is their lack of local facilities. Bunford Park will address this shortcoming. In order for Bunford Park to attract high quality B1 employment type occupiers it is important to provide these support services, including (subject to planning) a business hotel, health & fitness club, crèche, cafe and convenience store. These services will have the added benefit of making Bunford Park an environmentally sustainable employment location by reducing many of the additional car trips non provision of these local services on-site would create.
Bunford Park will deliver a high quality masterplan based business park concept with a consistent pallet of building materials based in a mature parkland setting . Abbey Manor will set up a management company to ensure that the quality of the working environment is maintained. Extensive on-site and off-site highways works and car parking will improve accessibility for road, cycle and pedestrian traffic. A new central zone will ensure that Bunford Park is the lifestyle employment location of choice in Yeovil.
Our vision for Bunford Park is simple - to create Yeovil's premier business location.
A Day in the Life of Bunford Park
When you arrive at Bunford Park either by private car or public transport you will be able to drop your children off at the proposed on-site crèche and grab breakfast at the cafe next door.
After a morning working in your high quality building overlooking mature parkland you could walk your business clients or visitors from your office along the landscaped pathways and cycleways to the restaurant located in the on-site business hotel for lunch.
After work you will be able to unwind with work colleagues with a drink or for the more energetic work-out in the on-site health and fitness centre.
On the way home you will be able to pop into the convenience store to pick-up those forgotten items and for those visitors from out of area they can stay overnight at the on-site business hotel.
